ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS
Whether it is their inherent goodness, surprising resilience, or incredible potential, children have always held a special place in my heart which led me to pursue a career in pediatrics. Growing up with a father who practiced Gastroenterology, I was introduced to the field at an early age, but it wasn’t until my completion of Pediatric Gastroenterology rotations in medical school, at this very practice, that I realized I had found my true calling. I love the complexity of the gastrointestinal system and I believe that every patient deserves their own specific approach to care. Parents are the experts when it comes to their children and together, we share our knowledge to make a difference in their child’s life. It’s a privilege to take care of children and a joy to watch them get better, grow and reach their maximum potential.
I received my undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech where I majored in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise. I attended medical school at DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, where I met my husband. From there we moved to Cleveland, Ohio where I completed both my residency in Pediatrics as well as my fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology at the Cleveland Clinic. I was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee and it’s been a dream of mine to come back home and take care of patients in this place that means so much to me.
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, spending time with my husband and family, and cheering on our Vols!
