Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant
GI for Kids
Knoxville, Tennessee
We are seeking motivated and experienced mid-level providers for a busy pediatric gastroenterology office located in Knoxville, TN. This position is for our outpatient clinic and will be under the supervision of a pediatric gastroenterologist and offers ample support staff. This clinic offers multiple opportunities in areas of interest such as food allergies, liver, IBD, weight management, motility, and outreach.
Required Qualifications for PNP, FNP, or PA
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner specialty certification in the State of Tennessee.
- Current specialty certification as a Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner.
- Current Physician’s Assistant licensure to practice in the State of Tennessee.
- Experience in pediatrics preferred.
- AHA Approved BLS and PALS
- Demonstrated high level of critical thinking and medical knowledge by using current medical information and scientific evidence for patient care.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize busy clinical practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient clinic care to pediatric and young adult gastroenterology patients
- Direct patient care and management would include performing histories and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, documenting, and developing a plan of care both independently and in coordination with Pediatric Gastroenterologists and others on the care team.
- Interact with other subspecialties to optimize patient care.
- Patient and family counseling, education, and support as necessary.
- Respond to calls from patients/families and care teams during working hours.
- Contribute to the development and modification of quality improvement initiatives.
- Engage in professional development; attend continuing education/staff development programs to maintain knowledge of current literature.
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday
- 8:00 am- 4:30 pm
- No nights, weekends, or holidays
