Wegovy (Semaglutide)
Wegovy is a prescription medication used along with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity to help with chronic weight management in adults and some teens who are overweight or obese.

How Does It Work?
Wegovy mimics a natural hormone (GLP-1) that:

How to Take Wegovy
- Once a week, on the same day each week (with or without food)
- Inject under the skin of your stomach, thigh, or upper arm
- Rotate injection sites each week
- Store in the refrigerator

Common Side Effects

- Stomach pain
- Burping
- Pediatric patients ≥12 years of age treated with Wegovy had greater incidences of cholelithiasis, cholecystitis, hypotension, rash, and urticaria compared to adults treated with Wegovy
Tips

- Avoid greasy or rich foods
- Stay hydrated
- ❌ Do not take Wegovy with other GLP-1 medications
Serious Side Effects (Call your doctor if you notice):
🚩 Severe stomach pain
🚩 Signs of dehydration (dry mouth, dizziness)
🚩 Vision changes
🚩 Fast heartbeat
🚩 Lump or swelling in neck (thyroid concerns)
Important Warnings
⚠️ Do not use Wegovy if you:
- Have a personal/family history of medullary thyroid cancer
- Have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
- Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
