I believe the best medical care begins with listening. Every child and every family have a unique story, and I strive to ensure my patients and their families feel heard, understood, and involved in every decision we make together. My goal is to provide exceptional medical care while building lasting relationships based on trust, compassion, and open communication.

Originally from Ohio, I earned my medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine before completing my pediatric residency at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology at Rady Children’s Hospital–San Diego.

During fellowship, I developed a passion for caring for children with pancreatic and biliary diseases. Because relatively few pediatric gastroenterologists receive specialized training in advanced endoscopy, many children who need procedures such as ERCP (endoscopic biliary and pancreatic procedures) and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) must travel long distances for care. To help meet this need, I completed an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

I enjoy caring for children with the full spectrum of gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic, and nutritional disorders, with particular interests in pancreatic and biliary diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, eosinophilic esophagitis, and therapeutic endoscopy. My specialized training allows me to care for patients from infancy through adulthood while collaborating closely with both pediatric and adult specialists to provide comprehensive, seamless care.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Rachael, and our son, exploring East Tennessee, and maintaining unwavering optimism while watching my Cleveland Browns. We are grateful to call Knoxville home and look forward to becoming part of this wonderful community.
