I am originally from Wyoming and have dedicated my life to healthcare, beginning my journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant right out of high school. Over the years, I worked my way up through the nursing field by earning my LPN, then my Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees in nursing, followed by a Master’s and ultimately a Doctorate in Nursing Practice.
My career has taken me across the country as a proud military spouse, with my husband’s service in the Air Force bringing us from Wyoming to South Georgia – where I landed my first job as a pediatric nurse practitioner. After a few years, the military gave us notice it was time to transplant again to East Tennessee. We have planted our roots and started our new journey here in Knoxville. Thankfully my husband will be eligible for retirement while stationed here and we should not have to move again!
I am a mother of two young boys and share my home with four giant breed dogs and one very tolerant cat. In my spare time—when I can find it—I enjoy playing the violin, guitar, or piano. I also enjoy playing baseball with my boys in the backyard and cheering for the Atlanta Braves!
I’m a lifelong learner who is passionate about staying up to date on current research and best practices to ensure the best possible care for my patients.
At GI for Kids, I strive to be more than just a provider—I aim to be your child’s biggest advocate and a trusted partner in their healthcare journey.
