Grace Lawley, CPNP

I am so blessed to be a part of the GI For Kids family now, after 27 years in Nursing.

My interest in Pediatric Nursing began when I was very young. I found it to be a natural way to combine my love of science with a genuine love for children into a career. My senior high school yearbook lists “Pediatric Nursing” as my goal.

I obtained both my BSN and MSN from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. I began my career as a bedside nurse at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital in 1993: first on a general Medical-Surgical Infectious Diseases floor, and then in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for twelve years. I obtained my Advanced Practice Nursing degree in 2009.

My family and I live in the Halls community, where our children attended school, and where we were involved in the planting of our current parish church. My husband works at Cherokee Health systems. We have spent our careers assisting patients who are normally underserved, or marginalized. We have three grown children who are the loves of our lives.

I enjoy any time I spend with my husband and children. I also enjoy reading, cooking, SEC football, and being near water of any kind. We have a precious, very large, extended family, and are blessed with friends both near and far, with whom we enjoy spending time.

I consider working with children and their families one of the greatest privileges of my life. I am passionate about giving high-quality care, with a focus on improved outcomes for my patients
